Deep Green Resistance-Kampagnen

Damit der Planet überlebt, müssen wir handeln, um ihn zu verteidigen. Daher organisiert Deep Green Resistance Aktionen, um die Machtstrukturen - Patriarchat, Kapitalismus und Zivilisation - zu konfrontieren, die hauptverantwortlich für die Plünderung von Land und Leuten sind.

Da wir eine Übergrundorganisation sind, beschränken sich unsere direkten Aktionen strikt auf gewaltlosen zivilen Ungehorsam. Wir halten eine Trennung aufrecht zwischen unseren Mitgliedern und jeglichen Gruppen von Individuen, die sich eventuell an Untergrundaktionen beteiligen. Eine Erklärung dafür, warum dies notwendig ist, ist auf unserer Sicherheitsseite nachzulesen.

Wir sind in Phase I unserer Operationen als Übergrund-Organisation, was bedeutet, dass wir uns auf Netzwerkbildung, Mobilisierung und Rekrutierung konzentrieren. Bevor unsere Bestrebungen wachsen und sich auf größere Ziele konzentrieren können, brauchen wir ein solides Fundament - eine Organisation und Gemeinschaft, die widerstands- und anpassungsfähig ist. Von da aus werden wir zu Phase II übergehen.

Solidarität mit Indigenen

Wir stehen traditionellen indigenen Völkern zur Seite, die versuchen, ihre traditionellen Lebensweisen zu erhalten und auszuweiten. Wir erkennen an, dass viele von uns auf gestohlenem Land leben.

Feminismus

Das Frauengremium leitet den Kampf gegen männliche Gewalt und Herrschaft sowie männliches Anspruchsdenken. Die Männer in DGR arbeiten daran, das Konzept der Maskulinität zu zerstören, ihr persönliches Verhalten zu verbessern und systematisch gegen das Patriarchat zu kämpfen.

Antirassismus

Das Farbigengremium leitet den Kampf gegen weiße Vorherrschaft, institutionalisierten Rassismus und rassistische Gewalt. Die Weißen in DGR arbeiten daran, diese Bemühungen zu unterstützen, ihren internalisierten Rassismus zu bekämpfen und die Systeme der weißen Vorherrschaft zu zerstören.

Bildung für den Widerstand

Wir glauben an die strategische Notwendigkeit von Bildung, die darauf ausgerichtet ist, die materiellen Umstände zu verändern. Das DGR-Buch ist beispielsweise ein Versuch zu unterrichten, aber letztendlich ist es ein Aufruf zu direkten Konfrontationen mit Macht. Wir fördern strategischen Widerstand durch Öffentlichkeitsarbeit, gemeinschaftsbasierte Bildung, öffentliches Sprechen, Videos und alle anderen Methoden, die sich als effektiv erweisen.

Landrestaurierung

Landwirtschaft ist der Prozess, der der Zivilisation zugrunde liegt. Sie führt zu der Zerstörung, die repariert werden muss. Hektar für Hektar, die lebendigen Gemeinschaften der Wälder, Wiesen und Feuchtgebiete müssen nach Hause kommen dürfen. Wir müssen sie genug lieben, dass wir sie vermissen und sie genug vermissen, dass wir sie wiederherstellen. Die beste Chance unseres Planeten liegt in ihrer Wiederherstellung. Mehrjährige Pflanzen reichern die Erde an und Kohlenstoff ist ihr Baustein. Diese Reparatur sollte das Hauptziel der Naturschutzbewegung sein. Als Teil davon arbeiten DGR-Mitglieder und -Ortsverbände daran, Land wiederherzustellen, wann und wo auch immer so etwas möglich ist.

Direkte Aktion

Wir engagieren uns in Übergrund-Kampagnen und nutzen die gewaltlosen Taktiken, die wir für in einer gegebenen Situation für am effektivsten halten (ob es sich um Mobilisierung einer Gemeinschaft und gewaltfreie Aktion handelt, um Änderungen der Gesetzeslage oder um kollektive Verweigerung von Unterstützung). Es ist unser Verständnis, dass in Anbetracht der zeitlichen Lage und der Anzahl unserer Aktiven Übergrundarbeit nicht genug sein wird, um Zivilisation, Kapitalismus, weiße Vorherrschaft, Patriarchat und andere unterdrückerische Machtsysteme zu zerstören.

Förderung von Widerstand im Untergrund

Daher ist dies der Fokus unserer Arbeit: Es ist notwendig, dass ein militanter Untergrund die Infrastruktur dieser Systeme physisch zerstört und die TäterInnen davon abhält, weiterhin ihre Verbrechen auszuüben. Wir arbeiten daran, eine Kultur aufzubauen, die militanten Widerstand normalisiert und fördert.

DGR Slovenia and friends dub a German anti-fracking film into Slovenian.

DGR Lower Columbia organizes Washougal River habitat restoration.

February 2014

Multiple members present at PIELC 2014, including Lierre Keith as a keynote speaker.

Eugene, Lower Columbia, and Salish Sea chapters host events featuring Guy McPherson and DGR speakers on Climate Chaos & Resistance to Ecocide.

DGR Austalia member tours the Philippines with the Mobile Anarchist School. She speaks at universities, infoshops, a farmer's forum and many other locations about the need for a serious resistance movement.

DGR Colorado member creates Stop Thinning Forests website, to inform landowners and counteract the misinformation propagated by the Forest Service and industry.

DGR Great Plains members participate in marches and actions against the Klu Klux Klan in Memphis, Tennessee.

May 2013

Two DGR members are arrested for their work against Natural Gas Fracking and genocide against indigenous communities. Fundraising efforts to support these people commence.

Members again travel to the Unis'tot'en camp to support the land-based anti-extraction resistance of the Wet'suwet'en people.

June 2013

Members present Resistance Rewritten during a speaking tour of the east coast. (View video.)

Members participate in the Left Forum in New York City, speak on radio shows in Florida and Oregon, and participate in anti-logging efforts in Slovenia.

New chapters continue to organize around the world. The organization, which is composed of more than 30 chapters, is now active in at least 10 countries.

DGR Middle Mississippia members help form Illinois South Resistance, to oppose fracking, coal mining, and other fossil fuel extraction.

DGR members and allies travel to northern California to respond to a call by the Winnemem Wintu tribe to protect a traditional coming-of-age ceremony for young women from disruptive, disrespectful, and potentially dangerous interruptions.

DGR Australia presents at and participates in Students of Sustainability conference.

DGR members participate in an anti-racism March for Justice in South Dakota, US.

Members take part in a march and blockade to shut down White Clay, Nebraska, US, forcing concessions from the liquor stores engaged in illegal and immoral chemical genocide against the Lakota people of the Pine Ridge reservation.

Members present A Culture of Resistance East Coast Roadshow across the southeastern United States to promote the movement and the need for a militant underground.

DGR members and allies organize a speaking tour up the Pacific Northwest coast of the United States and Canada to raise support for the Unis’tot’en Action Camp near Moricetown, Canada, before attending the camp.

The organization based on the book and the workshop begins to organize, and rapidly expands to over a dozen chapters worldwide.

Dillon Thompson of DGR travels the west coast of the United States to promote the need for a militant underground movement.

DGR News Service established to promote aboveground and underground resistance and direct action.

The authors of the Deep Green Resistance book speak to Occupy Oakland, and along with other friends and allies including Arundhati Roy, Thomas Linzey, Stephanie McMillan, and Waziyatawin, participate in the conference Earth At Risk: Building a Resistance Movement to Save the Planet.

April 2007
